You can synchronize your Palm Address book with your Eudora Address book using Palm Desktop and the Eudora Address Book Conduit.
Mac OS X users need Palm Desktop 4.0, Eudora 5.1 or greater, and Eudora Address Book Conduit 1.1. Palm conduits are stored in System Folder:Application Support:Palm HotSync:Conduits.
OS 9 users need Palm Desktop 2.6.3, Eudora 5.1 or greater, and Eudora Address Book Conduit 1.0. Palm conduits are stored in <Palm Root Directory>:Conduits
Before you can synchronize with Eudora you must:
- Place the Eudora Address Book Conduit in the Conduits folder
- Open Conduit Settings from within either Palm Desktop or the Hotsync Manager
- Double click on Address Book
- Select Do Nothing
- Click Make Default
- Double click on Eudora Address Book Conduit
- Select Synchronize the Files if it's not already selected
- Click Make Default if Synchronize is not already the default
- Click the settings button
- Browse to the Settings file for the Eudora you want to sync with
- Click Okay (this should take you back to the Eudora Conduit configuration screen)
- Click Okay (this should take you back to the Conduit Manager screen)
- Close the Conduit Manager
If you don't see the Eudora Address Book Conduit in the Conduit Manager, close the Conduit Manager and then relaunch it.
By default only addresses in your nicknames file are synchronized. If you want to sync all addresses within Eudora you'll need to check the Synchronize All Addresses checkbox within the conduit settings.
You can also override this setting for particular addresses within Eudora using the Do Not Include this Nickname when Syncing checkbox found at the very bottom of the Address form.
Note: You cannot synchronize with both Eudora Address Book and the Address portion of Palm Desktop
