Our quick start guide shows you how to put movies on your Palm and how to get the most enjoyment out of watching them.
Pocket-DVD Studio MMPlayer

Pocket-DVD Studio

What does it do?
Pocket-DVD Studio is fully optimized for old and new PCs, and enables you to create movie files that you can view on your Palm. The program uses recording techniques that are not based on simple ripping, and is compatible with all DVD titles.

Hardware Requirements:
  • A PC running Microsoft Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP
  • A DVD player installed on your PC
Getting Started:
  1. Install and then run Pocket-DVD Studio.
  2. Insert the DVD into your PC.
  3. If Pocket-DVD Studio does not begin to play the DVD, open and play the DVD in Pocket-DVD Studio.
  4. In the Pocket-DVD Studio interface, click the "Start Recording" button.
  5. Once the recording is finished, you will have an AVI file ideal for viewing on a multimedia player such as MMPlayer.

  • Cropping in both preview and recording modes
  • Range bar allows you to set start and end points for recordings (to remove ending credits, for example) to help reduce file size

MMPlayer

What does it do?
MMPlayer makes it possible to watch full-screen movies on your Palm with support for both landscape and portrait devices. The player supports a variety of controls and settings to help you create an enjoyable movie viewing experience on your Palm.

Hardware Requirements:
  • A 128MB/256MB or larger memory card (recommended)
Getting Started:
  1. Install MMPlayer.
  2. On your PC, copy a movie file (an AVI file produced by Pocket-DVD Studio, for example) onto your Palm's memory card.
  3. HotSync so that your movie gets transferred onto the memory card.
  4. Start MMPlayer.
  5. Tap the Playlist tab.
  6. Tap the "Add" button.
  7. Browse to the directory where the movie/AVI file was copied and tap "Ok."
  8. Select the file from the Playlist.
  9. Tap the "Main" tab.
  10. Tap the "Play" button.
